EXAMINING POLITICAL PARTY STRUCTURES THAT IMPEDE YOUNG WOMEN PARTICIPATION IN GHANA

Globally, young women political participation is low and the gap keep widening. The trend is discouraging in the Ghanaian context, both at local and the national level is
abysmal. This is also reflected in young women participation in the internal politics and leadership of the various political parties in Ghana. According to the electoral register of the electoral commission statistics young women constitute over 51.7% of the country’s electoral population under the youth population within the ages of 18-35years and this group certainly contribute enormously to political parties’ rise to power and democratic development as well as other sphere of development.
