West African Young Women in Politics Forum

In its effort to empower women and the youth for sustainable development, GenCED  provides a platform in form of a forum where participants from West Africa region meet and pear learn. Incepted in partnership with National Endowment for Democracy organized workshops have been held with the objective to empower young women with the democratic knowledge, skills, and tactics needed to participate in active politics and take up leadership roles in political parties whiles also increasing the number of women candidates contesting for elected office in their respective countries in West Africa.

Means of selection and participation used is through  a detailed online Google application form for interested young women in the various countries to apply. Beyond the application form, GenCED also collaborates with political parties, partners and former fellows of the Young Women Political Leadership School. The platform aimed at building a strong network of young women in leadership  offers women seeking political leadership a base for support and building each other’s careers in politics.
